Dolpo Trekking
Dolpa is the most remote trekking region and least developed part of Nepal, situated in the Trans Himalayan region of Mid- West Nepal inside the Shey- Phoksundo National Park, behind the Dhaulagiri mountain. Geographically Upper Dolpo is a part of the Tibet and is generally dry, cold and thinly vegetated which is not like most other parts of the Nepal. It has enthralling villages and is still a land of mystery, scenery and peace. Time has stood for thousand years as the inhabitants of Tibetan stock continue to live, cultivate and trade the way they have been doing since very beginning. So, it provides an opportunity to you to observe of mysterious monasteries, snow leopards and blue sheep. The stunning mountain scenery and the fact that the local people had that innocent friendliness atypical to people who live in extremely remote mountainous regions. This trekking is reserved for those trekkers with a true sense of adventure. Only In the autumn of 1990 the British tour operator operated a trekking from east to west, from Pokhara to Jumla through Lower Dolpo for the first time.
